StyldbyAyo is a distinguished hair salon brand rooted in African-inspired artistry, located in the vibrant DMV area. Specializing in all types of braids, the salon offers modern interpretations of traditional styles, reflecting the rich diversity of Black culture.
The brand sought a comprehensive transformation to align its visual identity with its commitment to cultural authenticity and contemporary aesthetics. This project encompassed a complete rebranding, including logo redesign, website design, and the development of a cohesive brand system that extended to its e-commerce extension, Ayohair.



Objective 01
Rebranding
Objective: Create a logo that encapsulates the brand's African heritage and contemporary flair.
Approach: We designed an insignia inspired by the letter 'A' intertwined with hair strands, symbolizing both the founder's initial and the core service offering. This emblem serves as a versatile mark, adaptable for both StyldbyAyo and Ayohair, ensuring brand consistency across platforms.
Establish a Cohesive Brand System for Ayohair
Objective: Extend the brand identity to Ayohair, ensuring a seamless visual and experiential connection between the salon and e-commerce platforms.
Approach: Leveraging the existing brand elements, we developed a sub-brand identity for Ayohair that maintains the core aesthetics of StyldbyAyo. This includes consistent typography, color schemes, and the shared 'A' insignia, reinforcing brand recognition and trust across services.

Website Design
Objective: Redesign the website to provide an intuitive and visually appealing user experience that reflects the brand's identity.
Approach: We conducted user research to understand client needs and preferences. The new design features a clean layout with vibrant imagery, easy navigation, and responsive design elements. Key functionalities include an online booking system, service galleries, and integrated social media feeds to foster community engagement.

Approach: We approached the development of the brand reels with a strong focus on storytelling, aesthetic consistency, and platform adaptability. Before filming or animation, we crafted a visual and narrative structure for each reel. These storyboards focused on:
Brand Evolution: Demonstrating the before-and-after of the logo and branding transformation.
Cultural Connection: Highlighting African-inspired hair artistry, the significance of braids, and the community served.
Client Journey: Visual walkthroughs of the booking process, in-salon experiences, and client satisfaction.
Product Showcase: A brief intro to Ayohair, connecting the service brand with the product extension.
Motion Design & Editing
Using the new brand guidelines—typography, color palette, and visual tone—we developed animated transitions and overlays that reinforced consistency. Each video was designed for:
